Every item sits in exactly one of them. The guest view reads approved items only, so hiding something takes it out of the gallery and off the wall.

Decide item by item
Approve, hide or remove. A hidden item can come back; a removed one is gone.
Publish deliberately
Gallery visibility, passwords and public listing are separate switches you control.
Connected behaviour
Chapters can stay private.
A sub-gallery marked private is excluded from the guest response entirely — useful for family-only moments inside an otherwise shared event.
