Terms of Service
By using Galeira you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. We've tried to write these in plain language; if anything is unclear, email hello@galeira.com and we'll explain.
0. Acceptance of these terms when you sign in
Clicking the "Send sign-in link", "Sign in with Google", or "Sign in with Apple" button on /auth/login — or completing the equivalent sign-in step in the Galeira mobile app — is your explicit electronic acceptance of these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy linked from them. We log the timestamp of each sign-in and treat it as your contemporaneous record of acceptance. You can withdraw acceptance at any time by deleting your account (Section 7); withdrawal does not retroactively unwind the agreement for prior service usage.
1. What Galeira is
A QR-code-based photo-sharing platform for events. Hosts create an event, share a QR with guests, guests upload photos and videos that appear in the host's gallery. Optional auto-mirror copies every upload to a cloud account the host already owns, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, S3, or WebDAV.
2. Accounts
- You sign in with a magic link sent to your email — no password.
- You're responsible for keeping that email address secure.
- One account per person. Don't share it.
- You must be at least 18 to create a paid account.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use Galeira to:
- Upload content that's illegal where you live, or where we operate (EU, US).
- Upload sexually explicit content or images of minors that wouldn't pass standard event-photo moderation.
- Harass, dox, or intimidate anyone.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or circumvent rate limits.
- Resell the service or operate it on behalf of third parties without our Pro-tier license.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate this section.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the photos, videos, and voice messages you upload. You grant Galeira a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, process, transcode, and mirror them — strictly to provide the service. We don't claim ownership, sell prints without consent, train AI models on your photos, or include them in marketing without explicit permission.
5. Pricing and what we may change at any time
Except for the setup guarantee below and the service shutdown commitment in Section 8, the plans listed below describe what each tier currently includes. They are a description of the present offering, and nothing more. We make no commitment of continued availability, continued pricing, continued feature set, continued storage windows, or continued existence of any plan — including the Free tier.
Subject to the setup guarantee and Section 8, we reserve, at our sole and absolute discretion, the right to do any of the following at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice:
- Increase, decrease, or otherwise change the price of any plan, add-on, or feature.
- Modify, limit, restructure, rename, downgrade, or remove any feature.
- Reduce or eliminate upload windows, archive periods, video length caps, upload count caps, cloud-mirror destination counts, or any other quantitative limit currently described below.
- Suspend or permanently discontinue any plan or the service in its entirety.
- Remove the Free tier entirely or convert it to a paid tier.
- Stop accepting new sign-ups or new purchases.
Continued use of Galeira after a change is your acceptance of the change. If you do not accept a change, your sole and exclusive remedy is to stop using the service and delete your account under Section 7. We are not obligated to provide advance notice, transition periods, refunds, credits, pro-rated adjustments, or grandfathered pricing — though we may choose to do so as a courtesy in individual cases.
Marketing copy elsewhere on this site (homepage, pricing page, blog, landing pages, partner kits) and statements made by our team in any other channel (email, support chat, social media, conference talks) are descriptive only unless the same commitment is also stated in these Terms, including the setup guarantee and the service shutdown commitment in Section 8.
- Free: $0 — up to 3 concurrent events, 50 photos per event (up to 5,000 with your own cloud connected), QR guest upload, basic gallery. Connect your own cloud (Drive / Dropbox / OneDrive / S3 / WebDAV) and Galeira keeps the gallery longer; without a connected cloud, Galeira retains it for roughly one month. Cannot Vanish backup runs on every approved upload once a cloud is connected. The Free tier is a current courtesy offering that we may remove, restrict, or convert to paid at any time without notice and without any compensation obligation.
- Event Duo: $24 one-time — a pack of TWO event credits (each redeemed onto one event you choose; credits are valid for 12 months from purchase). Each upgraded event gets unlimited guests, up to 25,000 uploads, original quality (no compression), a gallery kept for one year from the event date, live slideshow, sub-galleries, audio guestbook, bulk export, no Galeira branding, and mirroring to a cloud you own. The event date may be changed once. AI moderation + email-invite credits available as add-ons.
- Account plan: from $39 — whole-account premium for a fixed period (1 or 6 months), sold by monthly event volume (up to 5, 10, or 30 new events per month; the highest volume for the longest term is arranged individually). Every event created while the plan is active is premium, with the same one-year gallery per event. One-time and time-boxed — it does not auto-renew.
- Anniversary add-on: $9/year — "1 year ago today" memory emails and collaborative anniversary albums.
Legacy plans: earlier one-time "Wedding" ($29) and "Forever" ($59) purchases, and any "Pro" subscription, remain in effect on the terms in force when they were bought. We do not reduce the benefits of a plan you already paid for.
Setup guarantee
If your QR upload page and cloud backup are not working before your event, we refund you within 24 hours. This guarantee covers Galeira setup failure before the event: a QR that won't resolve, an upload page that returns errors, or a connected cloud destination where the test verify file failed to land. Email hello@galeira.com any time before your event date and reference this clause; we process the refund inside 24 business hours.
This guarantee does not cover:
- Third-party provider outages (Google, Dropbox, OneDrive, AWS, Cloudflare, Stripe, etc.) — we'll alert you and help reconnect, but cannot refund Galeira for an upstream failure.
- Cloud accounts the host deleted or revoked permissions on after connecting.
- Events that were already successfully used (QR scanned + uploads received) before the refund request.
- Changes of mind after the event date.
Other refunds
Outside the setup-guarantee window, we still review individual refund requests at hello@galeira.com — particularly for events that were canceled by force majeure (medical, weather, venue closure). We refund pro-rated based on remaining storage time when appropriate. Plan changes within the same event use cycle (Wedding → Forever upgrade) are credited against the new plan.
6. Service availability
We target 99.5% uptime but don't guarantee it. We schedule maintenance during low-traffic windows and post status updates. We're not liable for downtime caused by upstream providers (Cloudflare, Hetzner, AWS).
7. Termination
You can delete your account anytime from /dashboard → Settings → Delete. We'll remove all your data within 30 days. We may terminate accounts that violate Section 3 with reasonable notice unless safety requires immediate action.
8. Service shutdown commitment
If we ever shut down Galeira, we will:
- Notify registered hosts at least 90 days in advance.
- For Event Duo, Account, and legacy Forever-tier customers: complete a final mirror to your connected cloud before shutting down storage.
- For legacy Wedding-tier customers: provide a bulk-download link for the full archive window remaining.
- For Free-tier customers: provide a 60-day download window.
This commitment is the entire reason Galeira exists. We will honor it.
9. Disclaimers
Galeira is provided "as is". We don't warrant uninterrupted service, error-free moderation, or that auto-mirror will succeed against every cloud provider's API changes. We will do our genuine best on all three.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Galeira's total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration under JAMS Streamlined Arbitration Rules in Wilmington, Delaware, except small-claims-court matters.
12. Changes
If we make material changes, we'll email registered hosts 30 days before they take effect.
