DMCA & Copyright Policy
Galeira respects the intellectual property rights of others. We respond to clear, valid notices of copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and to comparable notices under EU and UK law. Our designated agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2); registration number DMCA-1073868.
How to file a takedown notice
Email dmca@galeira.com with all of the following. Missing any item slows things down or makes the notice invalid.
- Your full legal name, postal address, telephone, and email.
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The specific Galeira URL(s) where the allegedly infringing material is located.
- A statement, in good faith, that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
- We acknowledge receipt within 2 business days.
- We review the notice. If it is valid on its face, we remove or disable access to the content typically within 24 hours.
- We notify the user who uploaded the content, including a copy of the notice, and explain how to submit a counter-notice.
Counter-notices
If you believe content you uploaded was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. Email the same address with:
- Your full legal name, postal address, telephone, and email.
- Identification of the material removed and the URL where it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (US users) or your country's courts (non-US users).
- Your physical or electronic signature.
On receipt of a valid counter-notice, we'll forward it to the original claimant. If they don't file a lawsuit within 10–14 business days, we restore the content.
Repeat infringers
Per 17 U.S.C. § 512(i)(1)(A), we terminate accounts of users who are the subject of repeated, validated copyright complaints. "Repeated" means three or more validated notices within twelve months, unless a single notice involves clear, willful, or commercial-scale infringement, in which case we may terminate after the first validated notice.
Designated agent
Galeira's designated agent under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2) is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent Directory under registration number DMCA-1073868. The agent's current name, physical mailing address, and phone number are kept up to date in the public directory.
For takedown notices, the fastest route remains email to dmca@galeira.com. We monitor that address daily.

Per § 512(c)(2), this registration is renewed every three years. The next renewal is due by June 7, 2029.
Notices outside the United States
