Utah addendum (UCPA)
This addendum supplements our baseline Privacy Policy for Utah residents under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah Code § 13-61-101 et seq.
Your UCPA rights
- Access — confirm processing and get a copy.
- Deletion — of data you provided to us.
- Portability — receive a portable copy.
- Opt out of: targeted advertising; sale of personal data (UCPA defines "sale" narrowly — for monetary consideration only).
Note: UCPA does not provide a right to correction or a right to opt out of profiling, unlike VCDPA / CPA / CTDPA. We honour correction and profiling opt-out requests anyway, as a courtesy.
Sensitive data — opt-out
Under UCPA we are required to give clear notice and an opportunity to opt out before processing sensitive data (biometric, racial / ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, medical, citizenship, immigration, genetic, precise geolocation). Our face-grouping feature requires affirmative opt-in (we apply the stricter standard).
How to exercise
Email [email protected]. We respond within 45 days (one 45-day extension). UCPA does not require an internal appeal mechanism; if denied you may complain to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection at dcp.utah.gov.
